Painting bottom.

Installed centreboard.  Painted the keel with EZPoxy white. Painted 2nd coat of blue on starboard and 1st coat on port side.

Waterline struck and first coat.

Figured out how to strike the waterline with the laser level. I just didn’t have the laser level back far enough Then got the first coat done and it looks good so far.  Pettit EZPoxy Electric Sapphire blue with additive. Using roll and tip.

Waterline blues

Trying to figure out how to mark the waterline for my pocketship.   Having some trouble. Marked down from keel 16 1/2 inches (down from the bottom of the keel) as the manual said for pocketship number 1. This was a start point. Then measured same distance down from the keel bottom right at the transom and went 11 1/4 inches each side from that. Can’t curve my Barton around the hard chine. Anysuggestions CLC crew?

Final sanding and last coat of primer. Paint next.

Sanding over the entire hull with 220.  Last coat of primer. One quart was barely enough for 2 coats.  Also fiberglass repair in the Raema1. Some painting of the Cal 28 hatch cover.

Sanded the first coat. Touch up of bubbles with filler.

Sanded the first coat. Touch up of bubbles with filler. Also working on hatch cover for My Dream and getting ready to fibreglass cracks on the Raema1. 3 sailboats is too many. :)

Primer 1 coat

Put one coat of Pettit primer on bottom.

Hole in centreboard trunk.

Rasped off any drips on opening to centreboard trunk. Drilled hole in cornerboard trunk from underneath in the footwell. Was worried I had it in the wrong location but realized it had a couple inches of pine blocking to go through. All good.

More sanding

Sanded the filler I put on yesterday.  Tried spray painting a region. Not sure I like how the unevenness shows up.  If I am using EZPoxy do I need 2 coats of primer and 3 paint?

Sanding done. Almost….

Sanded over with orbital sanded 60 grit. Filled in some bubble spots and low spots and filleted some again.

Sanding mostly done.

About 14 hours of sanding. Just a small section on the starboard bow left. It’s easy to see the shiny part left to sand. The. I have to run over the whole bottom with 220 grit on the mouse sander. Then primer. Any suggestions from the CLC builders on paint? Pettit EZpoxy, Interlux?

Sanding. About 1/3 done. 6-8 hours in.

Sanding.  About 1/3 done. 6-8 hours in.

Fiberglassed, sanded, and clearcoated

The whole bottom has been fiberglassed, sanded, and clear coated with epoxy. Now to sand with 80 down to 220 grit to be ready for primer and paint.

Bottom sanded almost half clear epoxied

Have sanded the complete bottom and used up the last of the MAS epoxy to clear epoxy almost half of the Bottom. More MAS supposed to come tomorrow.

Fiberglassing done!!!!!

Finally have the fibreglassing done.  Chesapeake light craft must measure it pretty good because it was just barely enough.  The epoxy that had crystallized worked in the hot water bath very well. It liquified.   So now it’s sanding sanding sanding sanding sanding.
