Milled the pieces for the rudder and glued them up. The dimensions are supposed to be from 1 1/2" on the leading edge to 3/4" on the trailing edge. I used a hand planer to mill down the pine blocking, and then a grinder and orbital sander. The finished dimension is from 1 1/2" to 1". I don't think this will make any significant difference in it's operation.

Working on the rudder a little while I wait for warmer weather. My boys were helping this day :)

Storm Day. Did some marking and then got the wood stove going in the shed to heat it up. Working on the bow stitching. Hard to get it to match right. Also started the rudder. Found out that the plans from CLC have the scale wrong on this page for the rudder plans. It says the scale is 3" to 1". It should be 4" to 1". Running out of room in my shed!

Getting there slowly. It is getting too cold to heat the shed up properly for epoxy work. Stitching together the hull.

The side panels are being wired in place. They have been fiberglassed and then 2 additional coats of epoxy. Starting to get cold.....need wood sove in these days!!

I have been working slowly but surely on this boat. Fiberglassed the side panels last weekend, and now giving the additional coats of clear epoxy over top. I need to stitch them to the hull panels this week, and then put all the bulkheads in.

This is very time consuming but fun and a learning experience. I have to get the lead insert in the centerboard flush. Using a plane to do this. Then need to fill in any low spots. In the meantime my shed is getting crowded, and Kepler is patiently overseeing the operation :) A couple of pics of myself and Raema's trip to Connecticut are included here also.
