Yesterday, Sunday, Jan 29th Jim Snow and I ripped a strip for the boat's toe rails. This took a bit of figuring and thanks to Frank Camm who suggested cutting a trial piece out of pine first to get the look right before cutting the expensive mahagony. It worked great. The day before I had spent an hour or so planing the mahagony down from rough lumber to about 7/8th". Thanks to Francis Levangie again for use of his jointer to finish the piece. Now to sand the strip for the toe rails and figure out how to bend and fasten it in place for glueing.

OLD BLOG (July 2009)

Wednesday, July 29, 2009 No Time!! I was hoping to get more than this done. If the blocking goes from 3/4 to 1 and 1/2 up to the centerboard trunk and this is glued flat to the table then there will naturally be a curve. I hope that by putting a wedge under the keel while glueing will solve this....Will let you know!! What a marvelous noseblock I have planed!! Posted by Cliff at 7:06 PM 0 comments Thursday, July 23, 2009 Last evening milled the blocking for the centerboard trunk, and then glued them. Also cut pieces for the noseblock and glue...
